Given its size, price and all steel construction, the Cortez has to be close to scrap value.

I wonder if Matt could line up another transport partnership for the Mirai and ship it off to David, and what Elise’s thoughts toward her image and a black sedan are. If the haul is sponsored you’d likely be close to breakeven just handing it in to the auction Galpin uses.

If this was a shitbox showdown I’d vote for the Peugeot under the pretense of getting rid of the ugly front and rear ends and reverting back to EU specs. Since parts can be had for cheap in Argentina, it would be interesting to see how it works reversing the normal parts traffic from North to South, to the opposite.

Great Peugeot, it dates me that I knew somebody who dailyed one. Where is it?

Maybe Bob’s German car repair would take a non running VW Thing and a ‘63 MB 220SE in trade? BOD is about 20 miles away.

Brilliant, always felt this could be a great way of getting new stories. But the selection is not crazy enough — hope there are more interesting vehicles coming. Some road trips make the best stories, so could be modding a SUV and taking her to Moab, together with a DT Jeep.

Re. the Peugeot, you left out a couple of words.

“We already have a French car and this doesn’t need much” … Yet.

“so it’s not much of a project.” … Yet.

The Suzuki and Wagovan are 100% the ones to get.

“Counterpoint: It’s being sold by ‘Bob’s German Auto Repair’ so… maybe there’s a story there.”

Maybe, but really, how bad can it be? And if it’s THAT bad there’s a lot of floor under that $7,500 ask.

Can there be an option to get Lyft-style rides in one of these at Pebble to further contribute to the tip jar?
