Aston Martin
The Aston Martin Valhalla is a rad-looking supercar with serious credentials: 1,064 horsepower, 811 lb-ft of torque, and 10 levels of adjustable traction control and torque vectoring that let drivers squeeze as much or as little performance as they want from the hybrid twin-turbo V8. Now it boasts one more: it can do 217 mph with the roof off, which, ironically, is considerably faster than with the roof on.
The Valhalla Spider remains mostly the same as its coupe sibling, but offers endless headroom to enjoy the elements around you, plus that gnarly exhaust note coming out the back. A removable soft cloth can be rolled up and stored in the car to maximize driving time, so you don’t have to risk leaving a hardtop at home and not having it when it starts raining. Interestingly, Aston claims the top speed with the soft top on is 124 mph, about 93 mph slower than with it off. A carbon-fiber hardtop is available, but it isn’t stowable. And if you’re wondering, a sensor detects whether the roof is on or off, so you can’t exceed 124 mph with the top on.
