• The 2027 Ford Bronco Filson is the Blue Oval’s newest brand partnership and harkens back to the Eddie Bauer Bronco of the ’90s.
  • The newest Bronco comes equipped with the Sasquatch off-road package and a version of the Bronco Raptor’s twin-turbo V-6.
  • Ford hasn’t yet announced final pricing, but the Filson variant will be available to order this fall before reaching dealers sometime early next year.

Remember the Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer edition from the 1990s? Sure, it was little more than an appearance package, but Ford sold them like hotcakes. Unfortunately, considering that Eddie Bauer filed for Chapter 11 in February, we probably won’t be getting a new iteration of that Bronco any time soon. Don’t worry, though, Ford isn’t throwing in the towel on apparel partnerships. The new 2027 Ford Bronco Filson is the modern-day Eddie Bauer edition, and it’s suitably outdoorsy.

The collaboration is inspired by a 2020 partnership between Ford and Filson that saw the two brands create a Bronco that honored wildland firefighters and the National Forest Foundation. The new production version sports quilted leather and a wrapped dashboard. The seats are finished in a woven fabric said to be inspired by Filson’s twill. The leather-wrapped steering wheel has an attractive bronze bezel, which also matches the rotary dial that controls the G.O.A.T. drive modes.

While you could argue that the Filson package appears better suited for going to the trendiest coffee shop in town than it is for actual adventure, Ford does equip the collaboration model with an exciting engine. The Filson edition features the Bronco Raptor’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6. However, it doesn’t sound like the Filson will have the full 418 horsepower; we think it’ll be in the high-300 range.

Ford described the collab version as “tuned for everyday performance,” which a spokesperson told Car and Driver meant it wouldn’t be quite as loud as the Raptor. Still, the same spokesperson told us that even detuned, the 3.0-liter V-6 will be more than a half-second quicker to 60 mph than the 2.7-liter V-6 in the standard Bronco. Our last test with that powertrain required 6.2 seconds to reach 60 mph, so the Filson should be somewhere in the mid-5-second range.

The Filson package also comes equipped with the Bronco Sasquatch package, which means electronic locking front and rear differentials, Fox internal-bypass dampers, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and off-road assists like Trail Turn Assist and Trail 1-Pedal Drive. Ford told Car and Driver that the Filson gets a stiffer body structure than the normal Bronco lineup, and that engineers softened the suspension slightly to give the Bronco a more compliant on-road demeanor. It also features power-operated running boards to make it easier to get in and out without diminishing the Bronco’s off-road clearances.

The Bronco Filson isn’t the only new brand tie-in from Ford. The special-edition SUV comes just weeks after the Blue Oval unveiled the 2027 Super Duty Carhartt edition with the iconic Detroit-based workwear brand. Ford says the Bronco Filson will start in the mid-$70,000 range, which is unsurprising given that it comes standard with the Sasquatch package, leather interior, and 3.0-liter V-6 powertrain. Final pricing should emerge in the fall when the Bronco Filson will be available to order, with deliveries planned to start in early 2027.
